Tim Schenk

Founder & Portfolio Manager

Tim spent 15 years as a hedge fund analyst prior to founding Kuleana in 2016. He graduated with distinction from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 2001 and cut his teeth as an analyst at Blue Ridge Capital (2001-06). Tim earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business (2006-08). He lives in Free Union, Virginia with his wife and 4-year old twin daughters.

Chris Lewis

Managing Director

Chris spent 15 years in financial services and FinTech prior to joining Kuleana. He is an alumnus of the University of Virginia (2005) and Harvard Business School (2015). Chris oversaw several platform and product operations at SNL Financial and S&P Global (2007-19). He met Tim 20 years ago at UVA. Chris lives in Charlottesville, Virginia with his wife, son, and dog, Remie.

Kari Simpson

Head of Operations & Compliance

Kari spent 20 years in operations, training and marketing at CEC Entertainment. She met Tim in 2007 and joined Kuleana in 2021. She lives in Free Union, Virginia with her husband.
